Hanad Abdirizak Dahir

Hanad Abdirizak Dahir was born with a serious heart condition that required surgery at an early age. For sixteen years, his family lived with the heavy burden of knowing that the life-saving treatment he needed was far beyond their reach. Despite their love and care, the financial cost of surgery abroad was simply impossible for them to afford. Hanad’s childhood was filled with struggles. While other children played freely, he often sat on the sidelines, limited by fatigue and breathlessness. His parents carried the pain of watching their son grow up with a condition they could not cure, praying for a miracle as years passed without help. That miracle finally came through One Heart One World Association (OHOWA) and our dedicated partners. Together, we made it possible for Hanad to receive his heart surgery free of charge. After sixteen long years of waiting, Hanad’s life was transformed. Today, Hanad is not only alive — he is thriving. His story is a powerful reminder of why our mission matters: no child should be denied the chance to live a healthy life simply because of poverty. Through the generosity of our partners and supporters, Hanad’s heart beats strong — a symbol of hope for all the children still waiting for their chance at life.
